Jacob Jeffries Band is an American pop rock band from Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Formed in 2006, the band consists of Jacob Jeffries (vocals, piano), Jimmy Powers (electric guitar, backing vocals) and several alternating members. With Jacob on lead vocals and keys, the talented quartet create a unique musical blend of piano-driven rock and roll described by Miami Herald/Metromix as “bursting with hook-filled melodies and dramatic, instantly likable vocals,” that grab at your soul and refuse to let go which, paired with the young songwriter’s surprisingly insightful lyrics keep audiences out of their seats and singing along show after show.^[1]

Jacob Jeffries, considers among his musical influences Ben Folds, The Beatles, Tom Petty, Gavin Degraw and Jellyfish. When asked about how The Beatles helped shape him as a musician and songwriter he explains, “they took simple concepts, simple musical and lyrical ideas, and made them so interesting to listen to and dissect; they made me want to write songs that would get trapped in peoples heads.”

The Jacob Jeffries Band was named 2008’s “Best Live Band & Best New Release” by the Broward-Pam Beach and Miami New Times, and were selected to perform in, and won the Florida Grammy Showcase. As the New York Times affirmed of the South Florida musician, “It’s going to take one little person like Jacob to open doors to all those other Jacobs down there.

There will be yummy treats to eat, and a party atmosphere all day in the store!  There will be a 15% discount  on all used LPs for the day on Saturday, so stop in any time after 10 AM to join us for a day of fun and great music. On September 13th the new Ladytron-Gravity The Seducer CD and LP will be released. On Monday September 12th at 3PM, we will be having a listening party for the new CD/LP…we have lots of goodies to give away!! We will have some limited edition 7″ flexi discs for the first 5 people that stop in  after 3PM that day. We will also be giving away an entire CD collection from Ladytron and some other goodies as well. There will also be some munchies you can eat while you listen to the new CD from Ladytron!! On  Saturday, June 25th Uncle Sams Music is proud to present a live acoustic performance by Jacob’s Ladder.  The boys will be playing a rare stripped down set of their music at 3PM.  We will be selling their new CD “Back To Life”, and everyone that purchases the new CD will get a free Tshirt commemorating the event(limited supplies).  Make your plans to be here now!!  The band will also be playing at Churchills Pub this Friday night for the kickoff of their summer tour. Last chance to see them before they leave will be an opening spot for Motion City Soundtrack at the Florida Supercon and we are selling tickets for that show at the store for only $25.00 for a full day of comic book geekiness and great music!! Well, normally black Friday doesn’t mean a whole lot to Uncle Sams Music or the retailers on South Beach because we aren’t having massive sales…But this year, things are different!! Record Store Day has teamed up with all the cool indie record stores in the country to put out some of the coolest LIMITED releases since Record Store Day in April!!  Some of the biggest names in music are putting out some really cool, very limited pieces. Names like Metallica, U2, Bruce Springsteen, Bob Dylan, MGMT, Black Keys, Iron & Wine, Tom Petty, Ting Tings, Slayer and more.  Most of the releases are on vinyl,  but there are a few CDs as well. We will be opening on November 26th at our regular 10 AM.  Just remember these items are super limited and are first come first served!! We ordered tons, but we are not assured to get everything we ordered.  So come in on Black Friday, there won’t be the mall crowds, and visit us!! Hope to see you there!
