If you stop into the store next Tuesday May 3rd at 4PM, you can check out the new Fleet Foxes CD and have some treats to eat!! WEA will be giving us some pizza to chow down on and there will be all kinds of cupcakes and cookies. If you purchase the CD or LP on Tuesday, you can get one limited edition silkscreened poster like the one  shown. There will be a SPECIAL limited edition copy of the Fleet Foxes -Helplessness Blues on WHITE vinyl LP hidden somewhere in the store….there are only 100 made. So when WE say special, We mean it!! We will also be giving away a great Sub Pop prize pack with various goodies especially chosen for the winner!! Uncle Sams Music wanted to thank the hundreds of people who came out to celebrate Record Store Day with us.  It was truly humbling to hear all the great comments and compliments about the day and the store!! The labels went all out this year with the selection of vinyl (and CDs and even a cassette!!). The showcase never looked better, full of colored vinyl and picture sleeves, and by the time the day was over there was almost nothing left!! There was a line when we opened, but I think everyone left very happy! We had some awesome goodie bags filled with samplers, stickers, buttons, magazines and more, and about the first 75 people were able to get a bag.  We had cupcakes, cookies , muffins and the ever popular cheesecake stuffed strawberries to feed everyone after their purchases. What was great was hearing the customers that had waited on line together all talking after their purchases and saying how cool everything was. There were even some Facebook addresses traded.!!

This was a day that made me remember why I do this day after day. Sometimes you can get discouraged in this business, and a day like Record Store Day reminds us how important music is to people, and how important the indie record store is to them all! We just wish that we could have one of these more often!! So remember, we are always open and ready to help with any of your music needs.
